Job summary

Catholic Community Services of Southern Arizona is seeking a compassionate Cook to join St. Luke's Home in Tucson, Arizona. You will play an essential role by preparing nutritious meals for seniors, ensuring food safety and creating a welcoming dining atmosphere.

What You'll Do

As a Cook, you will help create nutritious, appealing meals while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation.

  • Preparing and cooking meals according to established menus and recipes
  • Ensuring food is cooked and served at appropriate temperatures
  • Preparing, plating, and serving meals, snacks, and beverages
  • Maintaining food quality, presentation, and portion control
  • Properly storing food and supplies to ensure freshness and safety
  • Assisting with kitchen cleaning and sanitation
  • Washing dishes, cookware, and kitchen equipment as needed
  • Supporting special events and community gatherings
  • Following all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements
  • Creating a welcoming dining experience for residents
What We're Looking For

Successful candidates will have:

  • A passion for cooking and providing excellent customer service
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (bilingual is a plus)
  • Food service experience preferred (healthcare or senior living experience is a plus)
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, and quality
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to obtain or maintain a Food Handler Certification (we can help!)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain (we can help!)
  • Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Current TB test
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
Preferred Experience
  • Senior living, assisted living, healthcare, hospitality, or restaurant experience
