Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in operating the Food Service Department to support a positive school climate.
• Prepare and serve student breakfasts and/or lunches at assigned school site.
• Maintain a clean serving area and work area at all times; wash dishes and sinks.
• Wash pots and pans and return to central kitchen; use the dishwasher as needed.
• Follow state health and nutrition regulations and school board policies.
• Travel to serving sites as scheduled and coordinate with site managers.
• Comply with confidentiality and maintain a respectful environment.

Primary Purpose:

Assist in the operation of the Food Service Department so a positive school climate can be realized.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Comply with State Health Regulations and State Child Nutrition Regulations.

Assist in the preparation of and serving student breakfasts and/or lunches at assigned school site.

Remove food from carriers, place on serving line and courteously serve to students and staff.

Maintain a clean serving area and work area at all times; keep dishes washed and sinks clean.

Wash all pots and pans returned to the Central Kitchen from the satellite schools.

Place all posts and pans into food carriers for return to the central kitchen.

Clean the inside and outside of each food carrier daily.

Report any defective carrier immediately to the Site Food Service Manager.

Clean refrigerators and freezer per schedule.

Operate the dishwasher in central kitchen.

Respects the privacy of confidential matters relative to students, patrons and personnel.

Travel to serving job; at an assigned school site and time.

Plans menu adaptations for children with special dietary needs.

Uses good judgment at all times.

Comply with School Board Policy.
