Job Description: Cook at Canteen

We are hiring immediately for a seasonal Cook position at Canteen, located at Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, 1601 Broadway, Kansas City, MO 64108. Online applications are accepted only.

Schedule: Seasonal, with days and hours varying based on client needs. More details will be provided upon interview.

Requirements: Previous high-volume catering experience is preferred but not required.

Pay Range: $18.00 to $23.00 per hour. Internal Employee Referral Bonus Available

Job Summary

Prepares food according to standards and regulations, ensuring quality service at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Prepare high-quality food items according to recipes and instructions.
  2. Serve meals or prepare for delivery, ensuring proper portioning, temperature, and presentation. Taste all prepared food.
  3. Use established ticket procedures during service and maintain records.
  4. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and storage areas, following safe food-handling procedures.
  5. Operate and maintain kitchen equipment.
  6. Assist in production planning, record keeping, and ordering supplies.
  7. Report maintenance issues or accidents immediately.
  8. Attend safety meetings and maintain good working relationships.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned, following HACCP standards and safety policies.
Safety and Policies

Use appropriate protective equipment and proper lifting techniques, and abide by all company policies.
