Job summary

Oak Plains Academy is seeking a PRN Cook to assist with meal preparation and service in a residential treatment setting. The role emphasizes food safety, cleanliness, and collaboration with dietary staff to meet residents' nutritional needs.

You will help manage inventory, assist with menu planning, and ensure a positive dining experience for residents while following health regulations and internal policies. Applicants should be 21+ with a valid license or ID.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be 21 years old or over.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and guidelines.
• Strong time management to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Excellent communication with staff and residents.
• Must attend the two-week orientation classes, Monday through Friday.

Oak Plains Academy (UHS Company) is a comprehensive and highly structured 98-bed residential treatment program offering psychiatric residential treatment services to children and adolescents, struggling with emotional and behavioral issues. Residents receive an individualized treatment plan, geared to meet their personal needs. A professional team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, nurses, and teachers serve hundreds of children and adolescents annually with the common goal of treating and healing trauma and building resiliency in the residents we serve. Located in Ashland City on 20 acres of rolling hills in a rural setting, about 45 minutes from Nashville, Tennessee, Oak Plains Academy campus features a full-size gymnasium, dining hall, separate academic building, and four dormitories.
