Job description

The Embassy Suites Dorado del Mar Beach Resort is seeking a Cook to join their team.

Embassy Suites Dorado del Mar Beach Resort is located on Puerto Rico's northern coast, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It is 10 minutes from Manuel Morales Beach and 21 miles from central San Juan. Guests can relax in the outdoor lagoon-style pool with ocean views and enjoy made-to-order breakfast and complimentary evening receptions.

Ideal Candidate: Full availability, 1 year of cook experience, a culinary degree, and food safety certification.

Shift Pattern: Full availability with rotating shifts throughout the week.

Pay Rate: $11.50 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and present high-quality dishes according to company guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and prevent cross-contamination in all work areas.
• Prepare mise-en-place for relevant menus.
• Assist other departments as needed and maintain good working relationships.
• Report maintenance, hygiene, and hazard issues.
• Comply with security, fire regulations, health, safety, and food safety legislation.
• Achieve departmental targets and contribute to team goals.
• Be environmentally conscious.

Qualifications:

• NVQ Level 1
• Positive attitude and good communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and independently or in a team

Preferred additional qualifications include NVQ Level 2, previous kitchen experience, and basic food hygiene knowledge.
