Job Summary

Part‑time Cook position located in Kirkwood, Saint Louis, MO. The role includes preparing and serving meals for students during the upcoming school year.

Position Details

Location: 801 West Essex Avenue, Kirkwood, Saint Louis, MO 63122. Part‑time schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Compensation

$15.75 to $16.75 per hour. Internal employee referral bonus available.

Requirements

• Prior food safety knowledge and cooking experience preferred.
• Ability to work part‑time during the school year with potential unpaid periods during breaks.
• Must be available for the required schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare high‑quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions.
• Serve meals or prepare for delivery, ensuring correct portioning, temperature, and presentation.
• Maintain accurate kitchen ticket collections and records during service periods.
• Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Store or discard excess food safely according to safe food‑handling procedures.
• Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and order food and supplies as needed.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
• Assist in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.
• Report maintenance or safety issues promptly to the supervisor.
• Attend in‑service and safety meetings.
• Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, administrators and managers.
• Perform job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Ensure proper presentation, portion control and serving temperatures, following HACCP standards.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including use of gloves, oven gloves, slip‑resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.
