Job description

Bon Appétit is hiring a part-time Cook at the University of Portland, located at 5000 N. Willamette Boulevard, Portland, OR 97203. The position requires at least 2 years of cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen. The schedule is part-time, from Friday to Sunday, with hours varying. The pay range is $19.00 to $22.00 per hour. Internal employee referral bonuses are available.

Job Summary

The Cook prepares food according to federal, state, and corporate standards, ensuring quality service at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Prepare high-quality food items according to recipes and instructions.
  2. Serve meals or prepare for delivery, ensuring correct portioning, temperature, and presentation.
  3. Use established ticket procedures during service and maintain records.
  4. Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and proper storage of food and supplies.
  5. Operate and maintain kitchen equipment.
  6. Assist in production planning, record keeping, and ordering supplies.
  7. Report maintenance issues or accidents immediately.
  8. Attend safety and in-service meetings.
  9. Maintain good working relationships with staff and customers.
  10. Follow safety protocols, including HACCP standards and proper use of protective gear.
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned.
