Job summary

Aramark is seeking a Cook to join our team in Marion, IN. You will help bring recipes to life, work with fresh ingredients, and explore different cooking styles while adhering to safety guidelines.

The role involves setting up stations, measuring ingredients, operating ovens and utensils, and maintaining food safety and sanitation across shifts. Previous cooking experience and the ability to obtain a food safety certification are required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook or in a related role.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as handling, sanitation, and storage.
• Must be able to acquire food safety certification.
• Demonstrate basic math and counting skills.
• Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
• Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items.
• Safely use a variety of utensils including knives.
• Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
• Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods.
• Arrange, garnish, and portions food according to established guidelines.
• Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures.
• Clean and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
• Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation.
• Ensures security of company assets.
