Hilton in San Jose, CA is seeking a Prep Cook to join our Hotels team. You’ll prepare high-quality dishes according to designated recipes and standards, delight guests with efficient service, and support the kitchen with basic prep tasks to help more senior cooks.

This role emphasizes hospitality, integrity, teamwork, and ownership. The position offers hourly pay starting at $28.22, rising to $31.74 after six months and $35.27 after a year, with benefits and travel perks described in our team

• Prepare high-quality dishes: Prepare menu items according to designated recipes and quality standards

• Execute basic food prep: Maintain a strong knowledge of basic prep work and simple cooking tasks to assist higher-ranked cooks
• Inspect and finalize plates: Inspect all preparations and dishes ahead of serving to ensure they meet quality and presentation standards
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace: Keep food service stations stocked and sanitary while following proper food handling, storage, and safety protocols
• Manage product and operational needs: Master kitchen equipment and recipes
• Comply with regulatory standards: Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations, ensuring the highest standards of guest and team member well-being

According to UNITE HERE L19, the new hire hourly rate for this position is $28.22 for the First 6 months. After the First 6 months the rate will increase to $31.74. After 12 months, the rate will increase to the CBA rate of $35.27.
