Job summary

Hilton in Chicago is seeking a Prep Cook to support our culinary team with high-quality dishes and timely guest orders. You’ll follow designated recipes, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and work under the guidance of senior cooks to ensure safety and presentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items according to designated recipes and quality standards
• Prepare guest orders efficiently while ensuring a positive dining experience
• Maintain a strong knowledge of basic prep work and simple cooking tasks (e.g., salads, sides, basic breakfast) to assist higher-ranked cooks
• Inspect all preparations and dishes ahead of serving to ensure they meet quality and presentation standards
• Keep food service stations stocked and sanitary while following proper food handling, storage, and safety protocols
• Master kitchen equipment and recipes
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness regulations, ensuring the highest standards of guest and team member well-being

• Maintain a clean and organized workspace: Keep food service stations stocked and sanitary while following proper food handling, storage, and safety protocols

• Manage product and operational needs: Master kitchen equipment and recipes

• Comply with regulatory standards: Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness regulations, ensuring the highest standards of guest and team member well‑being
