Job summary

Boomtown Casino Biloxi is hiring a cook to join its kitchen team. You will prepare breakfast, lunch, or dinner to standards established by the Chef and help keep the work area clean and organized.

The role supports training of new cooks and requires standing for full shifts and flexibility to work weekends, nights, and holidays. Candidates should have a High School diploma or equivalent and may have 1–3 months related food service experience; knowledge of proper food temperatures is valued.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; 1–3 months related experience or training preferred.
• Prior food handling experience and knowledge of proper food holding temperatures is a plus.
• Must be able to stand a full shift and work weekends, nights, and holidays as scheduled.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with guests and team members.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to effectively present proper phone etiquette.
• Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Must successfully complete ServSafe Alcohol training certification course.
