Job summary

Fat Tuesday in Biloxi is seeking a dedicated food prep team member to consistently prepare items per guidelines and guest orders. You will assist in training, maintain inventory, and raise concerns about shortages to leadership for timely ordering.

Ideal candidates have a GED or high school diploma, strong communication, and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while delivering friendly service and upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Two years of quick service restaurant experience and/or training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures food is prepared in a timely manner according to established guidelines.
  • Communicates with Fat Tuesday team members to provide prompt and friendly customer service.
  • Provides feedback to F&B leadership regarding trends of menu items and recommends changes.
  • Ensures food served is fresh and meets guest satisfaction; reports concerns to F&B leadership.
  • Ensures food stored and prepared according to food safety standards and guidelines.
  • Wears PPE and adheres to food safety standards at all times.
  • Remains knowledgeable on all products, casino events, amenities, and promotions.

Overview
Consistently and accurately prepares food to established guidelines and orders for Fat Tuesday guests. Assists in training of new cooks. Ensures par levels for menu item ingredients are kept in stock. Reports shortages and/or outages to F&B leadership for ordering purposes.
Responsibilities
  • Ensures food is prepared in a timely manner according to established guidelines.
  • Communicates with other Fat Tuesday Team Members as needed to provide prompt and friendly customer service according to department and company standards.
  • Provides feedback to F&B leadership team regarding trends of menu items and recommends changes.
  • Ensures food product served is fresh and meets guest satisfaction. Reports concerns regarding food product or ingredients to F&B leadership team.
  • Ensures food product is stored and prepared according to food safety standards and established guidelines.
  • Responsible for wearing personal protective equipment while handling all food products. Ensures food safety standards are following at all times while on duty.
  • Remains knowledgeable on all products in outlet, in addition to all casino events, amenities, and promotions.
  • Maintains a clean and stocked workstation in accordance with established health and safety guidelines.
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
Requirements

  • General Education Degree (GED) or High School Diploma; two years of quick service restaurant-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills.

  • Must be able to count money and change correctly.
  • Must be able to work high volume days, nights, holidays, and weekends, as needed.
  • Must meet professional appearances standards as outlined in company policy.
  • Ability to work in small areas in a fast paced and often crowded environment.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must have good written and oral communication and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
