Job summary

Cook II at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville is seeking a team player to prepare nutritious dishes, manage portions, and serve customers with a friendly, service-oriented approach. Shifts include mornings and evenings with rotating weekends.

You will read recipes, portion, cook, and present hot or cold items across meals, support daily operations, and contribute to a safe, efficient kitchen. 3–4 years of related experience preferred.

• Ability to read recipes and follow directions.
• Team-oriented, reliable, and safety-minded.
• Commitment to food safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for meals and events.
• Read and follow basic recipes and product directions for preparing items.
• May prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte station or operate a grill.
• Support management in daily kitchen operations and chef on duty during shifts.
• Attend shifts on time and contribute to a safe, clean work environment.
