Job summary

Choice Hotels International, Inc in La Crosse, WI is seeking an experienced cook to support banquet and restaurant operations. You will prepare and garnish food to spec, organize the kitchen, and ensure meals meet high hospitality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of cooking experience.
• Culinary degree preferred.
• Must be able to speak, read and understand basic cooking directions.

• Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Must have excellent attendance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and garnishes all food orders according to menu specifications under the guidance of the Kitchen Manager.
• Organizes and maintains work areas, coolers and storage areas.
• Serves food that is safe to eat, fresh and visually appealing.
• Cleans and sanitizes work station according to cleaning schedule.
• Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing the Radisson Blu experience through genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations.
• Performs other duties as required by Management to provide 100% Guest Satisfaction and genuine hospitality to our Guests.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be 18 years of age, or older
• Minimum two years of cooking experience, preferably in an upscale high volume environment
• Culinary degree preferred
• Must be able to speak, read and understand basic cooking directions
• Knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
• Attention to detail
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
• Must have excellent attendance and reliability

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Long hours are sometimes required, ability to work flexible schedule
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, frequent bending, occasionally stoop or crawl
• Ability to lift, carry or otherwise move and use force or exertion up to 75 pounds on a regular basis
• Good manual dexterity for the use of common office and kitchen equipment
