Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is hiring for a full-time kitchen role at the Otero County Processing Center in Chaparral, New Mexico. Pay is $17.80 per hour, with a schedule that varies and includes full-time hours.

You will prepare meals according to planned menus and supervise detainees in the cafeteria. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, food service training, and a NM food handler permit; a valid NM or TX driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Food service training and 1 year of food service or related experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid food handler’s permit from the state of New Mexico required.
• Valid driver’s license in NM or TX with acceptable driving record, unless waived by management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook the quantity of food required according to menu and number of detainees.
• Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly working condition; ensure work area is safe, clean, and sanitary at all times.
• Prepare food as directed for special facility functions, visitors, and special diets.
• Assist in cleaning kitchen work areas following each meal.
• Assist in the supervision of detainees assigned to assist in the cafeteria.

What you'll do:
