Waldorf Astoria Chicago is seeking a Cook I to join our team in the Gold Coast, delivering high-quality dishes in a luxury setting. You will manage guest orders and maintain presentation standards across multiple stations, ensuring efficiency and guest satisfaction.

As part of the Hilton family, you’ll contribute to exceptional hospitality, adhere to health and safety standards, and support inventory and plating during shifts in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-volume kitchen environments.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality dishes according to designated recipes and quality standards.
• Manage guest orders efficiently while ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Oversee stations, execution, quality control and inventory checks for complex recipes.
• Inspect all preparations and dishes ahead of serving to ensure they meet quality and presentation standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, keeping stations stocked and sanitary per safety protocols.
• Coordinate timing and plating, manage/direct cooks during shifts, assist with inventory and shift briefings.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations.

Recognized as one of the Best Hotels in the World and in Chicago with the Top Hotel Spa in the U.S., the AAA-Five-Diamond, Forbes 4-Star Waldorf Astoria Chicago is nestled in the prestigious Gold Coast neighborhood among the famed Oak Street retailers and beach, Rush Street restaurants and nightlife, and The Magnificent Mile. Reminiscent of the grand Parisian hotels of the 1920s, this luxury hotel features 215 rooms, over 5,000 square feet of meeting space and 4 food and beverage outlets. This includes a restaurant, 2 bars, and in-room dining.

• Execute complex recipes: Maintain a strong knowledge of menu offerings, handle complex recipes, and oversee stations, execution, quality control and inventory checks
• Inspect and finalize plates: Inspect all preparations and dishes ahead of serving to ensure they meet quality and presentation standards
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace: Keep food service stations stocked and sanitary while following proper food handling, storage, and safety protocols
• Manage product and operational needs: Coordinate timing and plating, manage/direct cooks during shifts, assist with inventory checks, ordering, shift briefings and some special features
• Comply with regulatory standards: Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations, ensuring the highest standards of guest and team member well-being
