Aramark is seeking a Cook to join our team in San Jose, CA. You will prepare diverse recipes, work with fresh ingredients, and explore creative cooking styles while following strict production guidelines and safety procedures.

Role emphasizes hands-on cooking, equipment operation, and maintaining high standards of sanitation and customer service. Prior cooking experience is required, and you may need to obtain a food safety certification.

• Experience as a cook or in a related role required.
• Knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations (sanitation and storage).
• Must be able to obtain a food safety certification.
• Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal).

Responsabilités

• Cook and prepare a variety of foods according to recipes and guidelines.
• Set up workstation with needed ingredients and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, chopping, and peeling.
• Safely use utensils and operate equipment (ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers).
• Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use various cooking methods.
• Arrange and portion food according to guidelines; store food per safety policies.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor toward guests and coworkers.

Compensation Data

COMPENSATION: The Hourly rate for this position is $24.00 to $24.00. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities

• Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.
• Cooks and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
• Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
• Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
• Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
• Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
• Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
• Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
• Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
• Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
• Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
• Ensures security of company assets

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
