The Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, a Marcus Hotels & Resorts property in Lake Geneva, WI, seeks a Banquet Cook I to join our culinary team. You will follow recipes, prepare and present dishes with precision, and ensure a clean, organized kitchen to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

We offer a competitive pay range of $14.00–$17.75 per hour, a $500 sign-on bonus, and comprehensive benefits. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity with growth potential across Marcus properties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Proficient in knife handling and basic prep functions.
• Ability to obtain licenses/certifications for food service/sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes, production specs and ensure proper presentation.
• Cook menu items to guest specifications and maintain quality.
• Label, date and store prepared food and ingredients; monitor spoilage.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work environment per health and chef standards.
• Communicate shortages or issues to chef or supervisor promptly.
• Set up and close kitchen station efficiently; assist teammates as needed.
• Adapt to changes in business volume; manage workload when possible.
• Prepare portions for staff meals and maintain professional appearance.

What will you be doing?

• Follow recipes, memorize production specifications, and ensure proper food presentation and cooking methods.
• Cook menu items to guest specifications, maintaining portion sizes and quality standards.
• Label, date, and store prepared food and raw ingredients properly, monitoring for spoilage.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment in line with health department and chef standards.
• Communicate any needs, shortages, or issues to the chef or supervisor promptly.
• Set up and close the kitchen station efficiently, assisting team members as needed.
• Adapt to business volume changes and assist with workload management when possible.
• Prepare portions for staff meals and maintain a professional appearance at all times

What do you bring to the role?

• High school diploma or GED preferred; previous line cook experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in knife handling, basic prep functions, and cooking procedures.
• Strong manual dexterity to operate kitchen tools and equipment.
• Physically able to lift up to 100 lbs., stand for long periods, and work in confined, noisy environments with temperature extremes.
• Ability to obtain required licenses or certifications for food service and sanitation.
• General knowledge of kitchen equipment and food products; open to learning all stations.
• Effective communicator with supervisors and team members; team-oriented.
• Capable of multitasking, managing long hours, and handling high-stress situations professionally.
• Flexible availability, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
