Creative Dining Services is looking for a friendly, experienced Cook to join our dining services team on the Grand Rapids Community College campus. Our cooks are responsible for ensuring that high-quality, properly seasoned, nutritious food is provided throughout the operation. This role involves working in both front- and back-of-house areas, assisting with daily prep tasks and serving guests in the GRCC campus cafeteria.

Enjoy a set schedule—typically Monday through Thursday—with time off over winter holidays and academic breaks. Summer schedules may vary, including cooking for our Preschool, covering breaks, and supporting our management team.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Time food production to ensure all food is ready at the time of service
  • Prepare food items according to established recipes and menus, maintaining food freshness, quality, and appeal
  • Maintain a safe, sanitary work area at all times
  • Store food items properly, using correct labeling and dating standards
  • Interact with guests during food preparation
  • Manage stock, clean fry equipment, and perform related tasks as needed
