Job summary

Benchmark at Mt Pleasant is looking for a full-time Cook to join our team. As a Benchmark cook, your main role will be to prepare delicious, healthy meals for our residents in accordance with current standards and Benchmark policies.

You will work under the Food Services Director to ensure quality service at all times. If you are dedicated to creating quality cuisine and want schedule-stabilizing hours, this opportunity is for you!

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Culinary Arts training preferred.
• 2 years of dietary experience.
• Knowledge of dietary procedures, laws, regulations in food service.
• Leadership ability to supervise staff.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assures all dietary procedures are followed.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively (meat slicer, processors, mixers, ovens, grills, steamers, dishwasher, dumb waiter, warmer cabinets).
• Assists in establishing a food production line to ensure meals are prepared on time.
• Represents the community with a positive attitude with residents and families.
• Prepares and serves nutritious meals with high-quality presentation and flavor.

• This is primarily a standing position, may need to stand in one place for extended periods of time.
