• We are hiring immediately for full-time COOK positions.
• Location: Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital - 701 Sixth Street South, Saint Petersburg, FL 33701. Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Full-time schedule; open availability preferred. Hours and days may vary, including alternating weekends; more details upon interview.
• Requirement: Previous cooking experience is preferred but not required.
• Pay Range: $15.00 per hour to $18.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Prepares food according to applicable standards, guidelines, and regulations, ensuring quality food service at all times.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Prepares high-quality food items according to recipes to meet schedules.
• Serves meals or prepares for delivery, ensuring proper portioning, temperature, and presentation. Tastes all prepared food items.
• Uses established ticket procedures during service. Maintains records from the area worked.
• Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Stores or discards excess food properly.
• Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized. Ensures proper storage of food and supplies.
• Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.
• Assists in planning, record-keeping, and reporting.
• Assists in ordering and receiving food and supplies.
• Reports maintenance issues, faulty equipment, or accidents immediately.
• Attends in-service and safety meetings.
• Maintains good working relationships with coworkers and management.
• Performs job safely, maintaining a safe work environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Ensures proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures following HACCP standards.
• Follows all safety policies, including the use of gloves, oven mitts, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques.
