Position: Cook

This full-time opportunity offers 40 hours per week, full benefits, and a convenient schedule. Under supervision of the Food & Nutrition Services Director, Supervisor, or Lead, the cook prepares patient, staff, and visitor food items according to recipes.

Job Summary

Under supervision, the cook performs various food service and dish duties, preparing appropriate food items for hospital patients, staff, and visitors following recipes.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Determine types and quantities of foods to prepare by reviewing menus and tallies.
  • Identify low supplies and communicate needs to the Director/Supervisor; assist in proper storage after delivery.
  • Ensure meals are ready at specified times and consult regarding leftover food use.
  • Prepare foods according to approved recipes and appearance standards, using garnishes when appropriate.
