Job Summary

We are hiring immediately for full time Cook positions at Children's Mercy Kansas located at 5808 West 110th Street, Overland Park, KS 66211. Applications are accepted online only.

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week; days and hours may vary. Pay range: $19.00 to $22.00 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery, and service schedules.
• Serve meals or prepare for delivery using correct portioning, ensuring correct temperature and appealing presentation; taste all prepared foods.
• Use established ticket collection procedures during service and maintain accurate records.
• Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness; properly store or discard excess food following safe food handling procedures.
• Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat, ensuring food and supply items are stored per standards.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
• Assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting as required.
• Assist in ordering and receiving all food and supplies as required.
• Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Attend in-service and safety meetings.
• Maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.
• Perform work safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment and ensuring proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards.
• Maintain personal commitment to safety for self and others.
• Abide by all company policies and procedures, including use of appropriate gloves, oven mitts, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques.

Qualifications

Previous food service experience is required.
