Job summary

Spectrum Retirement Communities in Kansas is hiring for a full-time kitchen position within our dining program. You will prepare high-quality meals, follow standard recipes and special diet orders, and work with the Director of Food & Beverage and the Sous Chef to manage food prep, supplies, and inventory.

Ideal candidates have at least two years of experience in hotel kitchen or restaurant operations, knowledge of sanitation, strong customer service, and the ability to communicate clearly and

Job Description

Schedule: Full-Time. Days and Hours Vary. Weekends and Holidays may be required.

In this position, your main responsibilities will include:

• The preparation of high-quality food following standard recipes and special diet orders.
• Working with the Director of Food & Beverage and Sous Chef to manage all aspects of food and supply management including securing items in time for food prep, ensuring leftovers are stored correctly, and inventories maintained.

Qualifications

To be successful in this position, we believe that you need the following experiences, strengths, and skills:

• Senior Living industry experience preferred, but not required.
• At least two years of experience working in all stations of a hotelkitchen, a restaurant, or a similar operation.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling standards.
• The ability to communicate clearly and work cohesively with the other restaurant team members.
• Must be self-motivated, organized, and professional. Must be able to work independently and handle multiple tasks at one time.
• Strong customer service skills are required.
