Position

Cook – Full‑time, immediate hire at Inova Loudoun Hospital, 44045 Riverside Parkway, Leesburg, VA 20176.

Schedule

Full‑time. Days may vary, 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM with rotating weekends.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay: $18.25–$18.50 per hour.

• Sign‑on bonus: 50 % paid after 30 days and 50 % after 90 days; terms apply.

Job Summary

Prepares food in accordance with applicable federal, state and corporate standards, ensuring quality food service at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares high‑quality food items per standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
• Serves meals or prepares for delivery, using correct portioning, temperature control, and attractive presentation; tastes prepared items.
• Uses ticket collection procedures during service; records area worked during periods.
• Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high cleanliness standards; stores or discards excess food per safe food‑handling procedures.
• Maintains refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat; ensures proper storage of food and supplies.
• Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.
• Assists with production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.
• Assists with ordering and receiving of all food and supplies.
• Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to supervisor immediately.
• Attends in‑service and safety meetings.
• Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers.
• Performs work safely while maintaining a clean, safe environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Ensures proper presentation, portion control and serving temperature; follows HACCP standards.
• Commits to safety for self and others.
• Abides by all company policies and procedures.
• Uses appropriate protective equipment: medium‑weight cut gloves for knives and slicers; oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves for hot pans; slip‑resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.

Qualifications

Requirement: One year of previous cooking experience.
