Job Summary
Prepares food in accordance with applicable federal, state, and corporate standards, ensuring high quality food service at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares high‑quality food items according to standardized recipes to meet production, delivery, and service schedules.
- Serves meals or prepares for delivery, ensuring correct portioning, temperature, and presentation.
- Tastes all prepared food items to verify quality.
- Uses ticket collection procedures during service and maintains accurate records of the area worked.
- Maintains kitchen cleanliness by cleaning after preparation and service, and discarding or storing excess food safely.
- Cleans refrigerators and storerooms, storing food and supplies per regulations.
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.
- Assists with production planning, record‑keeping, and reporting.
- Assists with ordering and receiving all food and supplies.
- Reports needed maintenance, equipment issues, or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
- Attends in‑service and safety meetings.
- Maintains positive working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers.
- Performs work safely while maintaining a clean, safe environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ensures proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures; follows HACCP standards.
- Commits personally to safety for self and others.
- Abides by company policies and procedures, including use of gloves, oven mitts, and slip‑resistant shoes; proper lifting techniques.
Qualifications
Previous cooking experience is a plus. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.
