Job summary

Tri--county-Child-and-Famil is seeking a Cook-Food Prep/Delivery to prepare meals and snacks for children at the Learning & Community Center in Waterloo, IA. You will maintain a clean, safe kitchen and help ensure CACFP compliance.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus 1 year in food service; candidates should be proficient with Microsoft Office/Google Suite and hold a valid Iowa driver’s license. Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week, benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED
• One year of experience in food service preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite & database systems
• Valid Iowa Driver's License and ability to be insured
• Must be cleared to work in a childcare setting by the Iowa DHS

Role Overview:

Responsible for preparing and delivering meals and snacks; maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment, including regular cleaning tasks; Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) recordkeeping; assisting with phone/security system answering; assisting with data entry and implementation of applicable regulations and standards of the CACFP and Head Start Nutrition Performance Standards and Procedures.

• Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED
• One year of experience in food service; preferred
• Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite & database systems
• Valid Iowa Driver's License & ability to be insured under agency policy
• Must be cleared & allowed to work in a childcare setting by the Iowa Department of Human Services
• Other Requirements:
  • Knowledge of basic household measurements with the ability to perform simple math conversions and calculations of measurements (with tools (calculator and charts).
  • Must be able to read and follow applicable Head Start and CACFP guidelines and recipes, and complete reports as directed.
