Job summary

MultiCare is seeking a Cook Float in Tacoma, WA for a part-time role within our Nutrition Services team. You will follow recipes and production standards to provide high-quality, safe meals for patients, staff, families and visitors at multiple hospital sites in the Tacoma area.

The position requires food-handling credentials, Serve-Safe preferred, and two years of cooking experience across casual to healthcare settings.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Current Washington State Food Handler’s Card required.
• Serve-Safe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide restaurant-style dining while supporting our commitment to using fresh, local, and sustainable products wherever possible.
• Order supplies, prepare food items, ensure proper food safety and sanitation standards, and maintain cooler and freezer stocks.
• Collaborate in a fast-paced, team-oriented, high-volume environment to deliver quality meals for patients, staff, families and visitors.
• Apply culinary skills to support patient and guest experiences across multiple hospital sites.

As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $22.87 - $34.78 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
