Job summary

Altamaha Health Center in Jesup, GA is seeking a Cook / Dietary Aide to prepare and portion meals for residents on regular and therapeutic diets, following the planned menu and physician orders.

You will handle food safety, assist with tray assembly, maintain dishwashing and sanitation, and ensure meals are served at proper temperatures with attention to detail and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in cooking or food service.
• High School Diploma.
• Organized with a high level of attention to detail.
• Desire to work with the elderly.
• Self-starter attitude.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and pre-proportion food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu and physician orders.
• Follows proper food handling and safety techniques according to policies and procedures and maintains infection control procedures.
• Serve food in an attractive, appetizing manner while preserving quality and palatability.
• Maintain proper food temperatures during preparation and service as per guidelines.
• Record food, refrigerator, and freezer temperatures.
• Assist with tray-line setup and assemble trays according to menu, tray tickets, stated portions, and diet orders.
• Follow daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules.
• Clean, wash, and sanitize dishes, flatware, and utensils; maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area.
• Put up stock in storage areas and refrigerators.
• Maintain courtesy and professionalism with residents, families, visitors and staff at all times.

Altamaha Health Center locatedat1311 W. Cherry St, Jesup, GAhas an opportunity for a Cook 5:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

As a Cook / Dietary Aide responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and/or pre-proportion food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu. Ensuring residents receive their specific meals as prescribed by the physician.
• Follows proper food handling and safety techniques according to established policies and procedures and maintains proper infections control procedures.
• Ensuring food is served in an attractive, appetizing manner, using proper technique to insure quality taste and palatability.
• Maintaining proper temperature of food during preparations. Ensures food is served at proper temperature as per guidelines.
• Records food temps, refrigerator and freezer temps.
• Assists with the setup of the tray line. Assembles trays according to the planned menu and tray tickets, stated portion, resident food preferences, and diet order and within the established time schedules. Assists in checking trays during service for accuracy.
• Follow daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules.
• Cleans, washes, and sanitizes dishes, flatware, and utensils used to serve patients and others.
• Assists in maintaining the general cleanliness of the dishwashing area.
• Cleans work area and equipment as assigned.
• Puts up stock in food storage areas and refrigerators as assigned.

• Must be pleasant, respectful and courteous to residents, families, visitors and fellow employees at all times.

Qualifications:
