Job summary

Logan Health Chester in Pennsylvania is seeking a dedicated cook to support patients, visitors, and the care team by preparing high‑quality meals that meet individual dietary needs in a hospital setting. You will follow recipes and production sheets, work at multiple stations, ensure food safety and sanitation, and provide timely service with attention to detail and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of experience in healthcare or food service is preferred.
  • Strong knife skills and ability to safely operate kitchen equipment.
  • ServSafe or food handler certification is preferred; if not already certified, you must successfully obtain certification within six months of hire.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn department-specific systems.
  • Knowledge of patient diets is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of menu items safely, efficiently, and according to recipes and production sheets.
  • Prepare multiple menu items at the same time while maintaining quality, accuracy, and food safety.
  • Work assigned production stations and meet meal deadlines.
  • Follow patient diet requirements and ensure meals are prepared and served in compliance with prescribed diets.
  • Maintain sanitation and food safety practices, including following HACCP guidelines and applicable state and regulatory standards.
  • Complete daily cleaning assignments and maintain an organized, safe kitchen environment.
  • Monitor food and supply inventory and communicate procurement needs to department leadership.
  • Use department-specific technology and systems to support daily operations.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, leadership, and other members of the care team.
  • Help create a positive, respectful, team-oriented environment while also being comfortable working independently.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance as scheduled.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on department needs.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Bring

Shift and Schedule

Shift: Variable (United States of America)

Schedule: 36 hours / week, Variable Days, Some weekend and Holiday coverage, Flexibility in Scheduling Required.

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
