Job summary

MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas is seeking a Cook to bring passion, precision, and creativity to every dish while delivering exceptional culinary experiences. You will master high-quality cooking techniques, ensure sanitation, and contribute to a WOW guest experience.

The starting rate is $26.6831/hr. The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, at least 18 years old, and 1+ year of cooking experience in a resort or high-volume setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 1+ year of experience as a Cook.
• Previous experience in a resort or high-volume hospitality setting preferred.
• Flexible availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Skills in preparing and cooking steaks and fish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain solid knowledge of food products and cooking techniques.
• Identify and safely use kitchen equipment.
• Restock kitchen supplies and food items required for service.
• Label and date products for safekeeping and sanitation.
• Maintain menu knowledge and plate presentation accuracy.
• Assist kitchen leadership and staff during service.
• Prepare base sauces, stocks and soups.
• Work as a team to meet guests' needs and inquiries.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Maintain solid knowledge of food products and skillfully apply culinary techniques
• Identify and safely use kitchen equipment
• Restock kitchen supplies and food items required for service
• Properly label and date products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation
• Maintain solid menu knowledge and attention to detail with plate presentation
• Assist kitchen leadership and staff in execution of service
• Maintain solid knowledge, understanding and preparation of base sauces, stocks and soups
• Work as a team, assist all guests needs and inquiries

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• 1+ year of experience working as a Cook preferred
• Previous experience in a similar resort or high-volume hospitality setting preferred
• Flexible availability to work varied shifts and an on-call schedule, including weekends and holidays required
• Skills in preparing and cooking steaks and fish preferred
