Position Summary

The cook is responsible for preparing all meal items according to the menu, resident preferences, and dietary requirements, while ensuring safety and quality policies are followed.

Qualifications
  • Must have a ROCKSTAR attitude
  • Ability to read, write, speak English effectively, and follow instructions
  • Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and hygiene
  • Food Safety Manager Certification required within 30 days of hire
  • Preferred: 1+ year of cooking experience in a healthcare setting
  • Ability to follow recipes, perform basic math, and lead in the absence of the Director of Food & Nutrition Services
Essential Functions
  • Prepare meals per menus, diets, and tray cards
  • Perform sanitation duties following policies, including cleaning with PPE
  • Manage ordering, receiving, storing, and preparing food
  • Operate equipment safely and report repairs
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas
  • Maintain regular attendance
  • Provide positive customer service to residents and staff
  • Adhere to dress code and workplace behavior standards
  • Perform other duties as needed
Physical Requirements

Ability to push, pull, lift (up to 50 lbs), bend, kneel, and reach safely, with or without accommodations.

Work Schedule

As assigned, including weekends, evenings, and holidays; non-exempt position.
