Job summary

Arrow Senior Living's Boulevard St Charles location in Saint Charles, MO is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team. This full-time role offers a Monday through Thursday and Sunday schedule, 11:30am to 7:30pm, with a pay range of $20 to $28.75 per hour and opportunities to grow within the company.

As a Culinary Craftsman, you will prepare menu items to established standards, maintain health and safety protocols, and engage with residents to learn their preferences and needs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
• Able to read, write, understand, and communicate in English with Residents.
• Current Food Handlers Card per the Department of Health.
• Demonstrated skills in leadership, training, and supervision.
• Proficient written and oral communication with management, professionals, and staff.
• Must be active: standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
• Ability to frequently lift/move items up to 50 pounds.
• Must be comfortable with extreme temperatures, including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers.
• Work primarily indoors, with outdoor events as needed.
• Criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

We are looking for someone (like you)

• To be a Culinary Craftsman: By preparing all menu items according to established standards and recipes, provide exceptional quality food that is attractively presented in a timely fashion.
• To take the Mess Out of Mess Hall: Ensure health protocols are always followed, including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and proper food temperatures.
• To be a Culinary Connector: Familiarize yourself with the residents and their preferences and needs. Participate in resident orientations.

What are we looking for?

• You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• You can read, write, understand, and communicate in English with our Residents!
• You will possess a current Food Handlers Card as specified per the Department of Health.
• You have demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in the areas of leadership, training, and supervision.
