Illinois Beach Hotel, situated along the coast of Lake Michigan, offers a full-service restaurant, conference rooms, a campground store, and a 92-room hotel. We are looking for an experienced Cook to work in Nolan’s at the Illinois Beach Hotel, in a park that receives over 2.5 million visitors annually.

Cook

Responsibilities

1. Assist the Kitchen Manager and Lead Cook in ensuring that the menu, which cannot be changed without corporate F&B approval, and guest service expectations as set forth by the employee handbook are met or exceeded.
2. Adhere to defined company recipes and safe food handling procedures to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
3. Complete all required food and safety logs in a timely and efficient manner per company procedures and federal, state, and local regulations.
4. Cook and prepare food/meals as required.
5. Work individually and with the team to surpass expectations in an efficient, motivated, and positive manner.
6. Provide timely, courteous, and professional service to all guests.
7. Follow all health and safety standards, policies, and initiatives.
8. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. Knowledge of food preparation and storage, sanitation requirements, and commercial kitchen equipment.
2. Ability to work various shifts including day, night, weekends, and holidays.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to read, write, and speak English.
4. Ability to stand for long periods in a fast-paced environment, carry up to 25 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally, with frequent bending, twisting, lifting, and squatting.
5. ServSafe and/or state food handler certification.
6. Minimum age of 18 years.

Education & Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent; minimum of 1 year of culinary training/experience.

Hourly rate: $19.00
