Position Summary

Performs a variety of quantity cooking and other kitchen duties and directs dietary aides under the supervision of the Food Service Director. Must adhere to all standards of the Board of Health and OSHA.


Responsibilities


  • Reads and follows extended menus, preparation book and bulletin boards;

  • Prepares items skillfully and on strict time schedule;

  • Serves on tray and food service line;

  • Fills and completes nourishment requisitions and delivers to floor(s);

  • Modifies/updates recipes as needed; notifies Food Service Director of same;

  • Performs duties as assigned by Food Service Director;

  • Completes and initials job tasks in quality assurance book;

  • Keeps work areas clean, orderly and safe;

  • Attend various facility committee meetings as deemed necessary;

  • Serve as liaison with nursing department;

  • Maintains a safe work environment and exhibits safe work practices, assuring resident safety.


Other Responsibilities


  • Helps with coverage in event of emergency or strike;

  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
