PeopleReady of Terre Haute, IN is now hiring Cooks in Vincennes, IN. As a Cook, you will perform many different duties that are part of preparing meals. This position offers a consistent schedule with 1st shift (Day) and an hourly pay rate of $19.76.

You will sauté, grill, fry and prep ingredients, read recipes, and support meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner and catered events. Applicants must be 18+ years old, have experience in a high-volume kitchen, and be able to work in all kitchen areas.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience in a high-volume institutional environment.
• Good knife skills and knowledge of food preparation.
• Able to work all areas of the kitchen.
• Stand in kitchen environment for long periods of time.
• Resume required.
• Background Check Required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals in a large volume establishment
• Saute, grill, fry, and cook ingredients according to food safety guidelines
• Chop, slice, and wash fruits and vegetables
• Make salads, desserts, and complete meals
• May create menus and follow recipes
• Assist with catering orders and prepare trays for customers
• Clean the kitchen area, take out trash, mop floors and wipe down the dining area when needed
• Accurately read and follow recipes to prepare food items
• Prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold menu items
• Support meal service for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and catered events

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $19.76 - $19.76 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a Cook:

• Prepare meals in a large volume establishment
