Job summary

Elderwood at Liverpool is seeking a compassionate Cook to join our dining team and prepare nutritious meals for residents. You will follow menus, ensure safety and sanitation, and work with kitchen staff to deliver high-quality meals in a caring environment.

This on-site role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to resident well‑being within a national skilled nursing provider.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous food preparation experience required.
• Knowledge of food preparation and production process

Responsibilities

• Review menus and production sheets to determine food quantities needed for regular, mechanically altered and other special diet needs.
• Prepare specified and execute dishes to recipe and quality standards, as assigned.
• Evaluate cooked foods using taste and aroma.
• Ensure that sanitation and safety standards are met in the preparation, cooking and production line stages of food production.
• Maintain proper use, care, handling, monitoring, and cleaning of all kitchen equipment necessary for meal production.
• Monitor the food during the cooking process; make sure food is maintained and served at the proper temperature.
• Assist with preparation and distribution of nutritious meals.

• Minimum 18 yrs of age


• High school diploma or equivalent.


• Previous food preparation experience required.


• Knowledge of food preparation and production process necessary.


• Ability to understand and organize food preparation activities required.


• Ability to carry out cooking tasks at a safe and efficient level of performance required.


• Pride in quality of food and service necessary.


• High degree of personal cleanliness and good hygiene; health status suitable for service of food required.


• Respect for residents’ privacy and rights; respectful and dignified treatment of residents required.
