Senior Solutions Management Group is seeking a Dietary Cook to support our senior residents with nutritious meals in a caring community.

Responsibilities include preparing food for regular and therapeutic diets, following safety protocols, keeping areas clean, and serving meals on schedule. SERVSAFE certification is a big plus and the team offers opportunities to grow with a great company.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking for seniors preferred.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets helpful.
• Understanding of proper food handling and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for regular and therapeutic diets according to planned menus.
• Follow proper food handling and safety techniques.
• Ensure proper quantity and portions of food are prepared.
• Prepare food for special events as instructed by supervisor.
• Maintain clean and uncluttered work area during preparation and service.
• Taste prepared food to ensure quality and palatability.
• Maintain correct food temperatures during preparation and service.
• Record temperatures per policy.
• Serve meals attractively and on schedule.
• Label, date and store food per policies.
• Ensure correct fridge/freezer temperatures.
• Wash dishes and utensils per procedures.
• Suggest improvements to recipes, menus, and equipment.

Dietary Cook Responsibilities:

• Prepare food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu
• Follow proper food handling and food safety techniques according to established policies and regulations
• Ensures that the proper quantity of food is prepared
• Prepare food for special events as instructed by the supervisor
• Keep work area clean and uncluttered during preparation and service of food
• Use proper technique to taste prepared food to ensure quality taste and palatability prior to service
• Maintain the proper temperature of food during preparation and service
• Record temperatures of food according to established policy
• Ensures that the food is served in an attractive, appetizing manner
• Ensures that meals are sent from the kitchen or serving area according to established time schedules
• Properly label, date and store food according to established policies
• Ensures that refrigerator/freezer temperatures are within the appropriate range
• Washes pots, pans, serving utensils, etc. according to established procedures for manual and/or automatic dishwashing
• Make recommendations regarding improvements in recipes, menus, production and service of food, equipment, etc.
