Pier Burger in Santa Monica is hiring Cook Crewmembers to join a team focused on delivering memorable meals. You will be trained in guest interaction, expediting orders, cooking, and ice cream preparation, executing every ticket with consistency and quality.

You’ll work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to a positive dining experience. You will be trained to provide friendly service that goes above and beyond, with responsibilities across opening, ongoing, and closing side-work duties

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• 2 years restaurant cook experience.
• High school graduate.
• Food handlers Card.
• Ability to satisfactorily communicate verbal and written English with Guests, management and co-workers.
• Ability to maintain knowledge of cooking techniques required to prepare menu items.
• Knowledge of menu items, preparation methods, ingredients and quality standards.
• Knowledge of proper maintenance and use of food serving and preparation equipment.
• Ability to comprehend food orders.

Responsibilities

• Complete opening and closing duties as assigned.
• Prepare necessary food items for meal periods and next service.
• Monitor cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned station and service areas.
• Cook for scheduled meal period.
• Follow supervisor's instructions.
• Alert manager to deficiencies of food items.
• Notify management of shift activity.

You will be paid up to $27 / hour, ($18.47 - $21 hourly rate plus service charges and tip pool). Tip pool and service charges add an average of an additional $6 / hour. This is not guaranteed and depends on schedule availability and discretion of the guests.

Cook Crewmembers will be doing meaningful work in all aspects of the restaurant. You will be trained in multiple areas from guest interaction, to expediting orders, to hands-on cooking and ice cream preparation. You will be executing every ticket with consistency, timeliness, recipe adherence, and quality control to ensure that every guest has a memorable meal.

Once hired, you will be trained to provide friendly service that goes above and beyond at all times. You will contribute and excel in a team service environment. You will be responsible for understanding and following all company standards and guidelines, and perform opening, on-going, and closing side-work duties.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• 2 year experience as a restaurant cook.
• High school graduate.
• Food handlers Card
• Ability to satisfactorily communicate verbal and written English with Guests, management and co-workers.
• Ability to maintain complete knowledge of all cooking techniques which are required to prepare restaurant menu items.
• Ability to maintain complete knowledge of all menu and special items, their preparation method/time, all ingredients and quality standards, taste, appearance, texture, temperature, garnish and method of presentation.
• Ability to maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of food serving and preparation equipment.
• Ability to comprehend food orders.
