Job description

Job Title: Dietary Cook / Aide

We are seeking to hire a self-motivated, efficient, and responsible Cook – Dietary Aide to prepare food items of sufficient quality and quantity to meet the needs of our residents for the dining room. If you have a passion for healthcare, this is the right opportunity for you!

Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and/or pre-portion food items such as beverages, salads, desserts, and other items assigned by the supervisor for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu and production sheets.
  2. Handle food using proper food handling and safety techniques according to established policies and procedures.
  3. Ensure that food is served in an attractive, appetizing manner. Use proper tasting techniques to ensure quality, taste, and palatability prior to service.
  4. Maintain proper temperature of food during preparation and service. Record food temperatures according to established policy.
  5. Assist with the setup of the tray line. Assemble trays according to the planned menu, tray tickets, stated portion, resident food preferences, and diet orders, adhering to established time schedules. Check trays during service for accuracy.
