Job summary

Merrill Gardens at Renton Centre in Renton, WA is hiring a Senior Living Cook for a full-time position with a four 10-hour day schedule (10 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and at least one weekend day.

You will prepare all food items, inspect plating readiness, maintain kitchen sanitation, and follow proper food handling and storage procedures. Ideal candidates hold a high school Diploma or GED, culinary training or degree, and at least 2 years of quality food prep experience; ability to obtain ServSafe

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Culinary Training Certification or Degree in Culinary Arts is required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in quality food preparation.
• Ability to obtain ServSafe Certification within 60 days as required by local/state agencies.
• Line experience and at least 1 year as a line cook preferred.
• Schedule flexibility including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

• Preparing all food items in a timely fashion.

• Always practicing correct food handling and food storage procedures.

If you are someone with:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Culinary Training Certification or Degree in Culinary Arts
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in quality food preparation
• The ability to obtain ServSafe Certification as required by local or state agencies (within 60 days)
• We are looking for candidates who have line experience and have been a line cook for at least one year.
• Flexibility with schedule and availability to work early morning and evening shifts as well as weekends and holiday

Actual pay rate within stated pay range is determined based on relevant factors in compliance with state and local wage laws. This range reflects what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires frequent standing, walking, and manual handling of materials up to 50 lbs. Regular bending, lifting, and reaching are also part of daily responsibilities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
