Job summary

Out West Restaurant Group is seeking a line cook team member in California to prepare diverse menu items quickly and accurately in a busy kitchen. You will join a well‑structured line setup across Salad, Fry, Sauté, Grill, and Make Up roles and support prep cooks.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, ensuring safety standards, and collaborating with teammates to deliver high quality dishes while adhering to food safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift, carry or move up to 30 lbs.
• Able to work in hot and cold environments.
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per shift.
• California based positions require Responsible Beverage Service Certifications (training possible).

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of food items quickly and accurately.
• Work on Line Cook roles in Salad, Fry, Sauté, Grill and Make Up, plus Kitchen Prep.
• Maintain clean and safe kitchen areas and equipment.
• Work as part of a team to meet quality and service standards.
• Prepare food with proper safety equipment, tools, and recipe standards.
• Restock kitchen and cook line as needed.
• Support restaurant operations across areas as needed.
• Uphold food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the preparation of food items. We have a diverse menu that requires speed and accurate preparation, and you should feel proud of each item you prepare.
• Our Kitchen is well designed with large working areas. We have Line Cook positions in Salad, Fry, Sauté, Grill and Make Up, along with Kitchen Prep Cooks.
• Responsible for maintaining equipment and the cleanliness of your surroundings in the kitchen.
• Working as a team to achieve standards in preparation and delivery of food items.
• Prepares food with proper safety equipment, tools, and recipe standards.
• Restocks kitchen and cook line as needed.
• Commitment to food safety, cleanliness, job safety and sanitation standards.
• Demonstrates teamwork by supporting all areas of the restaurant as business needs arise. Teamwork is essential and expected of all Outbackers.

Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry or move up to 30 lbs.
• Able to work in hot and cold environments.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per shift.
• Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting and stooping.
• Manual dexterity to handle glassware, utensils and technology systems.
• Ability to move quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Visual ability to include distance, close, color, depth and peripheral. Also, the ability to adjust focus as needed. The role involves working in areas with low or dim lighting.
• Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
• For all California based positions: Responsible Beverage Service Certifications Required (can be completed during training, and up to 60 days after start date).
