Oaks Senior Living is currently recruiting kind-hearted, experienced cooks who have a passion for working with seniors. We are offering a $1,000 Sign-on Bonus, with $500 after 90 days and $500 after 6 months of service.

Position Summary

The Cook will assist with the preparation, serving, and handling of food in accordance with federal and state regulations and the dietary program implemented by Oaks Senior Living policies and procedures. The Cook will maintain a clean and sanitized dining service area and assist in the receiving, rotation, and storage of products.

Qualifications
  • Experience in cooking for large groups.
  • Desire to work with older adults.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Friendly, caring disposition.
  • Must be 18 years of age and have a satisfactory criminal history check.
  • Must have a physical exam by a licensed physician and a negative drug screen.
  • Ability to react in emergency situations.
Primary Responsibilities

Food Preparation and Dining Service

  • Assist with cooking and serving food according to nutritional guidelines, health regulations, and resident preferences.
  • Assist with delivering quality meals, snacks, and special diets as directed by the Food Service Director.
  • Present food in an appetizing manner.
  • Foster residents' independence with eating by providing adaptive equipment.
  • Ensure timely and pleasant food delivery.
  • Prepare food and coordinate service for special events.
  • Report any malfunctioning kitchen equipment.
  • Wash dishes following cleaning schedules.
