Job summary

Hilton in Puerto Rico is seeking a Cook to brighten guests' day by delivering memorable dining experiences across hotel outlets, in-room dining, and banquets.

You will work from recipes, maintain mise en place, and ensure quality and presentation while keeping a clean, safe workspace.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items for hotel outlets, in-room dining, and banquets following recipes and plating specifications.
• Mise en Place: chop vegetables, portion proteins, prepare stocks and sauces to meet demand.
• Prepare high-quality dishes according to designated recipes and quality standards.
• Delight guests by delivering efficient, accurate service and maintaining a positive dining experience.
• Execute advanced cooking techniques and may work a station independently when required.
• Inspect and finalize plates to meet quality and presentation standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring sanitary practices and proper food handling.
• Manage multiple orders, assist with training, and step in for minor supervisory duties as needed.

Picture yourself brightening someone’s day. When you join our Hotels team, that’s exactly what you’ll do every time you come to work! As a Cook, you’re not just preparing great tasting food – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.

Responsibilities

Here’s what you’ll do during a typical day:

• Food preparation & cooking: Prepare and cook menu items for hotel outlets, in-room dining, and banquet functions following recipes, portion controls and plating specifications
• Mise en Place: Chop vegetables, portion proteins, prepare stocks, sauces, and pre-cooked elements to meet service demand
• Prepare high-quality dishes: Prepare menu items according to designated recipes and quality standards
• Delight our guests: Manage guest orders efficiently while ensuring a positive dining experience
• Execute advanced cooking techniques: Maintain a strong knowledge of more advanced cooking (e.g., sauces, roasting, grilling, plating) with the possibility of working a station independently as needed
• Inspect and finalize plates: Inspect all preparations and dishes ahead of serving to ensure they meet quality and presentation standards
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace: Keep food service stations stocked and sanitary while following proper food handling, storage, and safety protocols
• Manage product and operational needs: Manage multiple tickets/orders at once, assist with training, and step in for minor supervisory duties as needed
• Station Maintenance: Keep work areas clean, organized, and stocked sanitize equipment during and after shifts
• Comply with regulatory standards: Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations, ensuring the highest standards of guest and team member well-being
