Job summary

Hilton is seeking a Cook to join our kitchen team and contribute to delivering memorable dining experiences for guests. You will prepare quality menu items, work across cooking techniques, and maintain high standards of food safety while collaborating with kitchen and front-of-house staff.

The role requires experience in a fast-paced environment, excellent teamwork, and flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or certification from an accredited culinary institution or 2 to 3 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen.
  • High school diploma and 3 to 4 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Strong cooking skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques.
  • Excellent communication with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure during peak service times.
  • Must adhere to strict food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare high-quality dishes: Prepare menu items according to designated recipes and quality standards
  • Delight our guests: Manage guest orders efficiently while ensuring a positive dining experience
  • Execute advanced cooking techniques: Maintain a strong knowledge of more advanced cooking (e.g., sauces, roasting, grilling, plating) with the possibility of working a station independently as needed
  • Inspect and finalize plates: Inspect all preparations and dishes ahead of serving to ensure they meet quality and presentation standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace: Keep food service stations stocked and sanitary while following proper food handling, storage, and safety protocols
  • Manage product and operational needs: Manage multiple tickets/orders at once, assist with training, and step in for minor supervisory duties as needed
  • Comply with regulatory standards: Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness regulations, ensuring the highest standards of guest and team member well-being

Skills

To be able to perform the duties of this role, the candidate must be able to demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and abilities:
