Onaga Health and Rehab in Onaga, KS is seeking a full-time Cook to join a dynamic, caring team committed to quality senior care. You will prepare meals for residents, ensure proper food safety, and support a safe, clean dining environment while interacting warmly with residents, families and staff.

You will work days, evenings and weekends in a fast-paced dietary setting that values respect, teamwork and continuous learning. Prior cooking experience is helpful but not required.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COOK

As a Cook, you play a vital role in our community. Without you, we would not be able to provide quality meals for our residents!

You prepare meals for our residents in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

With a close eye for detail, you ensure the quality and temperature of food items.

You take great care to enhance safety and sanitary conditions. You live up to the trust of those in your care by complying with applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, and regulations, maintaining knowledge of and following all company policies and procedures. Your warm and friendly demeanor makes it easy for you to provide excellent customer service and build relationships with residents, their families, visitors, and your colleagues. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A COOK

• Must have ability to perform basic arithmetic, understand measurements and follow written and oral instructions.
• Cook experience preferred but not required. A willingness to learn is needed.
• Solid communication skills, attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with residents, vendors and team members.

Experience in a geriatric nursing facility is preferred but not required. Are you trustworthy and respectful of others? Is being dependable, professional, and a team player at the heart of all you do? Do you enjoy serving and caring for seniors?
