Job description

Join to apply for the Cook role at Pollak Innovative Management Partners.

Position Summary:

The Cook performs designated work and cleaning routines for the Dietary Department, including preparing meals correctly and timely, supervising employee staff, and being accountable to the Dietary Manager. In the absence of the Dietary Manager, the Cook oversees and supports the staff.

Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and portion hot and cold menu items according to proper menu and recipe as noted on the production sheet counts.
  2. Serve resident meals according to the correct meal service times.
  3. Provide coverage for staff members who call out due to illness.
  4. Ensure all correct food and equipment temperatures are recorded by meal.
  5. Interact daily with residents and facility employees to ensure residents are satisfied and properly served.
  6. Maintain the highest standards of sanitation as required by state Department of Health regulations.
  7. Practice a clean, safe work environment.
  8. Work flexible hours as needed.
  9. Track inventory and communicate low supplies or place orders for needed items.
  10. Label, wrap, and date all unused food items in the correct areas.
  11. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  12. Support and follow Pollak Innovative Management Policies and Procedures.
In the absence of the Dietary Manager, additional duties include:
  1. Ensure staff clock in on time as per their schedule.
  2. Discipline staff not completing their responsibilities correctly.
  3. Conduct daily huddle meetings for staff communication and direction.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or Culinary Tech Graduate.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow recipes, production sheets, diet orders, tray tickets, and employee responsibilities.
  • Ability to learn and operate computer software for resident information and preferences.
  • Serve Safe Certification or ability to earn within the first 90 days of employment.
