Job summary

Ingleside Communities in Mount Horeb, WI, is seeking an experienced Cook to join a dedicated Nutritional Services Team. This full-time role includes every other weekend and focuses on preparing nutritious meals for residents and tenants while maintaining strict sanitation and safety standards.

You will operate and clean equipment, follow standardized recipes, and interact with residents and staff to ensure high-quality service.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Enjoy working with the senior population.
  • Must be English literate to complete all functions of the job.

Ingleside Communities is a not-for-profit, highly respected provider of short-term rehabilitation, long-term care and senior living services for more than 45 years. Located in the Village of Mount Horeb, we are a short 15-minute drive from the West side of Madison. Our campus includes three senior living options; a rehab and skilled nursing facility, an assisted living facility, and senior independent apartments. We are currently seeking an experienced Cook, who is a hard-working, dedicated and energetic, interested in working with a strong Nutritional Services Team. This is a Full-time position, including every other weekend.

Our Chefs/Cook prepare and serve palatable, nutritional meals for our residents and tenants who call Ingleside Manor their home. They also clean and sanitize equipment and workspaces in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. They are a close team who rely on one another to ensure we provide the highest quality nutritional services possible. Qualifications Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Sufficient education to demonstrate functional literacy.
  • Enjoy working with the senior population
  • Must be English literate to complete all functions of the job
Qualifications Preferred:
  • Serve Safe Training
  • Food service experience preferred, however on-the-job training provided.
Essential Functions of the Job:
  • Operates, cleans and sanitizes food service equipment and work area.
  • Prepares food following food safety guidelines, diet restrictions and standardized recipes.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and follows the sanitation standards.
  • Ability to interact appropriately with residents, public and co-workers.
  • Prepares and serves food according to portion control guides and diet restrictions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions.
  • Plans and schedules workday to meet meal deadlines.
  • Has basic knowledge of special diets and that they are served correctly.
  • Other duties: Completes all other duties as assigned.
