The State of West Virginia is seeking a food service worker to prepare three meals and snacks daily for residents of a Juvenile Correctional Facility at Mount Hope. You will operate food service equipment, follow mandated menus, and assist with ordering, inspections, and nutrition program logs.
You will interact with residents daily, ensure timely meal delivery, and support scheduling and other duties assigned by your supervisor.
This position is responsible for the preparation of three meals and snacks per day for residents of a Juvenile Correctional Facility. This position will operate all food service equipment to include cleanliness of each. This position follows all mandated menus to include any special diets. Assists in ordering and receiving of all food service items. Assists with paperwork for inspections and nutrition programs, maintaining daily and weekly logs according to policy and procedures. This position will have daily contact with the resident of the juvenile facility in which this position works. This position will ensure the timely deliverance of meals to ensure the resident population is served. Scheduling will be a priority. Will also perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Training: Ability to pass a written test at the eighth grade level.
Experience: One year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in large-scale food preparation and serving.
Special Requirements: Applicant must furnish an approved food handler's certificate within seven days after appointment.
