Job summary

Stellar Senior Living in Missoula, MT is seeking a motivated Cook to join our culinary team at a senior living community. You will prepare high-quality meals, follow health and safety regulations, and work both independently and as part of a team to delight residents from breakfast through dinner.

The ideal candidate has meal preparation experience, strong teamwork, and a passion for tasty, nutritious meals in a supportive, resident-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Experience and/or knowledge of meal preparation.
• Safe food handling techniques; Safe Serve preferred.
• Ability to read and follow recipes.
• Ability to work with others or by self.
• Understanding of different cooking techniques, cook times, storage and proper handling.
• Multitasking is a plus.
• Open communication with staff and residents.
• Identify flavor profiles.

Responsibilities

• Assists in maintaining a well-organized and efficient food service department.
• Demonstrates understanding of all basic food production skill sets with the ability to perform these error-free and meet the company quality standards.
• Prepares and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized manner.
• Prep, Cooking & Cleaning is required.
• Communicate between the front & back of the house.
• Talk to residents when necessary to discuss likes and dislikes of the meal offered.

Job Description

Our cooks prepare high-quality meals in accordance with food health and safety regulations, as well as state & company standards. To be successful, you must be diligent, pay attention to detail, be able to run a line by yourself or as part of a team, be able to think fast on your feet and be able to follow basic instructions (written and/or verbal)
